1. Information We Collect
1.1 Shopify Store Data
When you install the App, we automatically access certain types of data from your Shopify store as permitted by Shopify's API:
- Store name
- Store email address
- Store URL / domain
- Shopify user ID
- Product data (titles, media references, image metadata)
- Permissions and access scopes granted
- Billing and subscription status
We do not access customer data, order data, or payment information.
1.2 Product Images
The App collects and processes product images that you explicitly choose to edit using the App.
We access:
- Product image files
- Image variants
- Media metadata
We do not access or store any other media unless explicitly selected for processing.
1.3 AI Background Removal & Image Processing Data
When you request image processing (crop, resize, background removal, or multi-aspect-ratio generation):
- Images are uploaded securely to our processing service
- Temporary copies may be created to perform transformations
- Processed results are returned to your Shopify admin
- Temporary processing copies are deleted automatically within 24 hours
We do not use product images to train AI models.
We do not share processed images with third parties.
1.4 Usage Analytics (Non-Personal)
We collect anonymized usage data, such as:
- Which features are used
- Processing success/failure rates
- Count of images processed
- Performance metrics
This helps us improve the App.
We do not track personal information or merchant behavior outside the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the App's features (crop, resize, background removal, aspect ratio generation)
- Save processed images back to your Shopify product media library
- Manage subscriptions and billing
- Maintain the App's security and performance
- Provide support and respond to inquiries
- Improve existing features and develop new functionality
We do not sell or rent your data.
We do not use product images for marketing or training.
3. Sharing Your Information
We only share store data with:
3.1 Shopify
As required to comply with the Shopify App Store terms, billing, and OAuth permissions.
3.2 Cloud Processing Providers
We may use trusted cloud services for:
- Temporary image storage
- Background removal processing
- Secure media transformations
These providers process your images only for the purpose of delivering the requested results and automatically delete temporary files.
We do NOT share data with:
- Advertisers
- Analytics brokers
- Third-party marketing companies
- Data resellers

4. Data Retention
We retain:
- Store installation data for as long as the App is installed
- Subscription and billing logs for legal purposes
- Temporary processed images for up to 24 hours, after which they are automatically deleted
- Support emails and messages as long as needed to provide service
If you uninstall the App:
- All store-specific data is deleted within 48 hours, except billing logs required by law
We never retain product images after uninstall.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including:
- Encrypted HTTPS communication
- Secure, access-restricted cloud storage
- Automatic temporary file deletion
- Periodic audits
- Shopify-approved embedded app architecture
No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, including:
- Right to access your data
- Right to request deletion
- Right to correct inaccurate data
- Right to withdraw consent
- Right to portability

7. Uninstalling the App
When you uninstall:
- Shopify automatically revokes our access token
- All merchant-specific data is removed from our systems within 48 hours
- Any temporary image processing files are deleted automatically
