How Eirvanta uses AI in projects
AI at Eirvanta is a powerful new teammate — the same approach that shaped FanDrive and Decision Replay. Not a replacement for people, not an excuse to remove real design, and not a justification to turn every interface into a chatbot.
- AI is one tool in the interface — never the whole interface.
- Judgment stays human — direction, empathy, and craft don't delegate.
- Small teams, amplified — AI keeps senior teams fast, not replaced.
AI amplifies clarity. It never replaces understanding.
AI helps us work smarter and learn faster. But the judgment, direction, empathy, and craftsmanship come from humans. Here's how we incorporate AI — and how we don't.
AI enhances design; it doesn't erase it.
Some companies want to reduce every user interface to a single "chat with the bot" window and let an LLM do everything. We don't believe in that.
AI has changed how we design software, but replacing UX with a text box is not innovation — it's abdication. AI should make the product better, not lazier.
Well-designed workflows still matter. User intent still matters. Clarity still matters.
AI is one tool in the interface — not the interface.
We treat AI like adding a new member to the team.
When a new team member joins, you don't hand them the entire business. You figure out:
- what they're good at
- what they're not good at
- how they complement the rest of the team
- where they accelerate the work
- where they need oversight
- how to integrate them so the team becomes stronger
That's how we use AI. We let it shine where it excels: speed, pattern recognition, breadth, summarization, scaffolding. But we never force it into roles where understanding, nuance, judgment, or empathy are required.
AI should strengthen the team, not replace it.
AI helps us explore ideas faster — not skip understanding.
We use AI to:
- test alternatives
- expand thinking
- surface blind spots
- generate variations
- reduce the cost of early exploration
But we do not use AI to choose the problem or set direction.
That comes from human insight, real users, and purpose-driven clarity.
AI accelerates learning — it doesn't replace it.
AI helps us: analyze patterns, streamline research, process large sets of information, and iterate faster.
But the real learning still comes from:
- observing users
- understanding constraints
- watching workflows
- listening without filters
AI supports the loop. It doesn't define it.
AI supports craftsmanship — it doesn't replace it.
We use AI to: automate low-value tasks, help prototype concepts, clean up writing, and outline scaffolding for code.
But the craft — how it works, why it exists, how it feels — comes from the humans who care deeply about the work.
AI can generate an option. Only humans can decide what's right.
AI removes waste — not responsibility.
AI helps eliminate: repetitive work, slow research loops, unnecessary friction, endless drafting, and manual cleanup.
But it never replaces the responsibility of making wise product decisions. Those require: experience, empathy, taste, purpose, and judgment.
Qualities AI doesn't have.
AI helps us stay small and senior, not scale through automation.
Our teams remain intentionally small and experienced. AI is how we keep them: focused, fast, sharp, unburdened, and effective.
AI amplifies expertise; it doesn't substitute for it.
AI at Eirvanta: a partner, not a replacement
purpose · craftsmanship · human insight · thoughtful design · user experience · integrity of the solution
AI helps us build better products. But it never replaces the human judgment that makes them worth building.
